LeapFrog My Pal Violet

We LOVE Violet. This is one of the best toys our daughter has ever received and nobody seems to know about LeapFrog My Pal Violet!!

As a proud parent of a 2-year old I didn't really think my daughter needed another stuffed animal, even one that could say her name. Violet was a gift just prior to a cross-country flight and I have to say I was wrong. She is amazing!!

Violet is easy to set up and Leap Frog has done a great job with their names database - my daughter's name, Maren, is not one that I'll find on keychains or cups throughout her life but it was a choice when setting Violet up (and also for Tag Junior as that is also a Leap Frog toy).

Violet is a welcome addition to our life in the house and in the car. She has two volume settings both of which are pretty indoor-friendly (even airplane friendly) and she is not nearly as annoying as one little red $60 monster who constantly needs help getting up.

My daughter loves pushing Violet's paws to get to the song she wants to hear and I can't wait for her to learn how to spell her name with Violet's help. You can select 5 different songs, your child's favorite animal, food and color.

Yookidoo Flow 'N' Fill Spout

Yookidoo Flow 'N' Fill Spout, If your children enjoy playing with running water, this toy is a great alternative to continually running the faucet. It seems to be well made and has functioned well for the months that I have had it.

Yookidoo Flow 'N' Fill Spout, I purchased this toy for my 2 year old, but my five and seven year olds play with it, too. I have been known to stick a cranky kid in the tub to play with this toy for an hour or so- a break for me and an attitude changer for the child! I am purchasing a few of these for Christmas presents this year! My kids love love loved this but in less than a month it just stopped working.

I called the company international playthings and they basically said "not our problem". I have never had such bad customer service with a toy company. They said any problem I had would have to be dealt with through the toy store where I purchased it. I love this product but knowing what I know now I would not recommend it or any international playthings toy as they do not stand behind there merchandise.

Baby Einstein Bendy Ball

After buy Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes, I like this Baby Einstein Bendy Ball toy because my almost 6-month old son can easily grab and hold on to it. However, he's at the stage where he wants to put everything in his mouth, and he tends to get frustrated becaues this doesn't really lend itself to being chewed on. I think he'll like it more when he can play with it like a ball, rather than trying to use it as a teether.

A mom in my group had a similar one of these for her baby who just loved it. So when we were walking through the baby aisles at Target, we saw this one and just put it in the stroller with our baby to see if he would like it--and he played with it the entire time! So, of course, we bought Baby Einstein Bendy Ball!

He has many other rattle-type toys meant for grabbing, but this is the first one he has actually grabbed on to and played with. It is very sturdy and actually a little heavier than I anticipated by just looking at it--I was worried it might be too heavy for him to pick up (since we had never really seen him pick up anything before) but he manages with no problems!

Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes

I love this toy in Toys Games Stores and will give it to every new parent that I know! This is the only toy with sound that we own that does not have clear packing tape on the speaker! (Every other toy gets the "tape treatment" once it enters the house!) Music quality is great and the songs play for longer than most toys, so you don't have to reach over and hit the button as often!

I have a 10 month old daughter, and she has fallen in love with this toy. I bought Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes because of its portability and size, but the small package has delivered so much more.

The sound from the single speaker on the back of the 'Takealong Tunes' is extremely solid for such a small speaker, not tinny or hollow what so ever. The lights move in time to the music, and the whole thing is light enough for her to easily carry in one hand while she crawls around the house.

The large button-like wheel on the front is extremely easy for her to push, with just enough resistance that it isn't going off incessantly, and the colorful caterpillar handle is a natural draw to her mouth. The only minor complaint I would have is that I wish the handle were rubberized instead of hard plastic since it is in her mouth so often.

I thought I was buying a good sound & lights toy for the portability since it is not always easy to drag larger flashing, blinking, booping toys around with us, but I feel like I've gotten so much more out of this potent little package.
